The Future of the Game
The Demo
I just released the demo for the game that includes just two scenes and only a fraction of what I have in mind for this game. I consider it almost a sketch. I made this demo for a class and it was a great learning experience using Unity.
Future Plan
Now that I have graduated college, I plan on making this game my new personal project.
The first step I'm taking is to recreate this demo in Unreal. I want to get a feel for Unreal to see if it would be an engine that would suit me more vs Unity. I have no issues with Unity but I'm drawn to Unreal for their visuals and visual scripting capabilities. I want to incorporate more mechanics into the game, such as picking up and inspecting objects, and I feel more confident that I can create those in Unreal given I have no experience programming.
After I finish recreating the demo in Unreal, then I will decide which engine I want to move forward with to complete the game.
Next Steps
- Take the existing assets and recreate the game in Unreal.
- Decide which engine I will use.
- Create concept art, flowchart, and storyline. Most assets will be updated to be more polished and to have more intention.
- Whitebox the new game.
